CALIGULA, (A.D. 37-41), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 37-38, (25.65 grams), obv. Pietas seated to left, PIETAS in exergue, around C CAESAR AVG GERMANICVS P M TR POT, rev. DIVO AVG across, S C across, Caligula standing left sacrificing in front of hexastyle temple, (cf.S.614, RIC 36, BMC 41). Dark tone with bronze highlights, nearly very fine and rare.

A good example of Caligula's large bronze issues, rarely available.
