SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochus IX, (113-95 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.70 gms), Antioch mint, first rule in Antioch 113-112 B.C., obv. diademed bearded head of Antiochus IX to right, fillet border, rev. Athena standing to left, holding wreath bearing Nike in outstretched hand, all within laurel wreath, on right, BASILEWS ANTIOXOY, and to left FILOPATOPOS, to left mongram of - and N over A, to right N, (S.7160, Newell SMA 384). Nearly extremely fine and scarce.
