SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochus VI, (144-142 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.688 grams), Antioch mint, issued year 169 = 144-143 B.C., obv. radiate head of Antiochus VI to right, fillet border, rev. the Dioscouroi on horseback charging to left, above **BASILEWS ANTIOCOU and below **EPIFANOUS over **DIONUSOU, to right monogram PA0 above TPY and **STA, to left date **QXR*, all within wreath, (cf.S.7072, Newell SMA 233, Egger Sale xlvi 1914 no.2458). Extensive surface scratches and hoard patina, otherwise nearly very fine.
