MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), AE 17.5, (5.756 grams), Miletus mint, issued 323-319 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. below a club and corn ear, **ALEXANDRO[U]* between, bow and bowcase above, (cf.S.6739, Price 2102, BMC 2102a-d). Attractive dark green and black patination, very fine/nearly extremely fine and rare in this condition.
