MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.172 grams), Phaselis mint, issued 205-204 B.C., (year 14), obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, countermarked with Seleucid anchor on head, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, I**D* over **F* to left, O under throne, to right **[AL]EXANDROU*, (cf.S.6713, Price 2854, BMC 2854, M.-). Coin with surface porosity, otherwise fine/nearly fine and rare.
