SICILY, Syracuse, under Hieron II, (275-215 B.C.), AE 27, (18.188 grams), obv. diademed head of Hieron II to left, rev. horseman prancing to right, holding couched spear, N to right below, in exergue **[IE]RWNOS*, (S.1221, SNG ANS 938-9). Deep green patination, porosity near edge, very fine.
