ITALY, Calabria, Tarentum (Taras), (4th-3rd century B.C.), silver diobol, (1.220 grams), obv. head of Athena to right wearing crested Corinthian helmet, rev. Herakles to right strangling a lion, behind him a club, above the lion an owl facing body to left, (S.351, Vl.1324, SNG ANS 1414). Off centred on the obverse, otherwise nearly extremely fine.
