ITALY, Campo Concentramento Prigionieri di Guerra, Verona camp, one lire note, N. 02469 is hand stamped into position, name of the camp printed together with a purple hand stamped with P.G. 028 together with signature of the camp commandant lower right, (Campbell No. 5897. Very fine.

Ex J.S. Reid Collection. Italy made in W.W.II some of the most profuse issues of POW currency. Each camp for the most part unlike Germany issued its own distinctive currency.
