KADAMBAS OF HANGAL, ruler Toyimadeva, (c.A.D. 1065), gold pagoda, (4.242 grams), obv. lion walking right with head reverted, rev. ornamental scrollwork, (M.664, Spink-Taisei Sale 9 [lot 204 realised $325US]. Nearly extremely fine and rare.

Toyimadeva ruled over both Hangal and Banavasi. This issue is of the Hangal style (Mitchiner).
