EDWARD VIII, 1937, set of four privately issued proof/pattern crowns for New Zealand in (.925) silver, copper, Barton's metal and golden alloy. Obverse bears the crowned head of Edward sculpted by Donald R. Golding, and is akin to the effigy of George V on contemporary New Zealand coinage, obverse legend: KING EMPEROR. Reverse, crowned shield of New Zealand. One of only 350 sets issued. (4)
