SEAMAN'S ADVANCE NOTE, issued at Hobart Town, November 12, 1856, for four pounds, 'Two days (replacing three days) after the Ship 'Mariposa' has Sailed from Hobart Town pay to Henry Stanworth or Order, the Sum of 'four' pounds, provided he has Sailed in the above named Vessel, being an Advance on an intended Voyage as per Agreement with Astin Morrison Esq. New Wharf Hobart Town Mr(?) Croncher (?) Commander' and across in red a Receipt payable ... cancelled 12/11/56 as a Receipt; together with receipt from Water Boat Constitution Dock (Hobart), Oct 16 - Nov 11 1856 from W. Evans on board the Mariposa a supply of water. signed by Croncher. Corner missing, creases and crease holes, in the advance note, otherwise good fine and rare, receipt very fine, all rare. (2)
