BURMA, Pegu, during and after Bayinnaung (A.D.1551-1581), issue made c.1560-1750 (R&S p.35-6), a small hoard (10) of uniface lead coins 22-25mm. (8) (each about 3-4 grams), and (1) 18mm (2.2 grams), and another (1) 15mm (0.7 grams), all with the Hantha bird on the obverse within a dotted circle, obv. hantha bird to right (9), to left (1), all from different dies, (Robinson & Shaw, 'The Coins and Banknotes of Burma' Chapter 6, pp. 35-36 [cf.illustrations 6.1]). Mostly very fine, all rare, the smaller denominations very rare. (10)
