ROMAN REPUBLIC, C. Fonteius, (114-113 B.C.), silver denarius, (3.78 grams), obv. Janiform head of the Dioscuri, M to left, * to right, rev. galley with pilot and three rowers, ligature of [C].FONT below, ROMA in exergue, (S.226, Cr.290/1, Syd.555). Attractive dark tone, good very fine and scarce.
