SICULO-PUNIC, Hanniballic occupation, (c.213-211 B.C.), silver half shekel or denarius, (4.196 grams), possibly Akragas mint, obv. head of beardless male, wreathed with corn to right (Triptolemus), dotted border, rev. horse galloping to right, with Punic letter 'H' below, all within laurel wreath, (S.6602 [attributed to Hiempsal II 106-60 B.C. of Numidia], SNG Cop.378, M.45 [attribution as for Sear], cf.Visona 56). Attractive golden tone, extremely fine and rare.
