SICULO-PUNIC, (c.410-395 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.962 grams), obv. forepart of a horse to right, grain ear before, Nike flying and holding wreath and caduceus over horse's head, [lion's head to right behind and Punic legend 'QRTHDST' below], rev. palm tree with two date clusters, (S.6426 [p.594], Jenkins, SNR 53, 17 - example 4 [this coin, dies 04/R17], Ratto Sale April 4, 1927 [lot 445, this coin], Naville Sale 12 (lot 1058 same dies), Cahn Sale 35 (lot 223, same dies] = ANS example. Attractive grey tone, almost free of any imperfections, slightly off centred on obverse, otherwise good very fine/nearly extremely fine and very rare.

Ex Ratto Auktion Sale April 4, 1927 (lot 445) and the Marion A. Sinton Collection, sold in Triton III Auction Sale, Nov. 30 - Dec.1, 1999 (lot 336, illustrated). Jenkins records only six examples of this coin type from these dies. The entire series comes from ten obverse and thirty two reverse dies.
