GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-244), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 238-9, (19.81 grams), obv. laureate bust of Gordian III to right draped and cuirassed, around IMP CAES M ANT GORDIANVS AVG, rev. around FIDES MILITVM, S C across field, Fides standing left holding standard and transverse sceptre, (S.2485, RIC 254a, C.88). Uneven green toning with porosity on face, otherwise nearly very fine.
