GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-244), silver denarius, (3.334 grams), Rome mint, obv. laureate bust to right of Gordian III, draped and cuirassed, around IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. Jupiter standing facing, head to right, holding spear, around IOVI STATOR, (S.-, RIC 112, C.113). Good very fine, scarce.
