CLAUDIUS, (A.D. 41-54), AE as, a British imitation from uncertain mint, type Class I, issued c.A.D. 41-50, (11.580 grams), obv. bare head to left, around [TI CL]AVDIVS CAESAR AV[G P M TR P IMP], rev. Minerva to right, helmeted and draped, hurling javelin and holding shield, SC in field, (S.639, RIC 100, BMC 149). Attractive brown patination, off centred, nearly very fine and scarce.
