NEW SOUTH WALES POLICE SERVICE, Commissioner's Commendation, awarded to Transit Officer Walter Carl Holt, in recognition of the courageous attempt to disarm a desperate man who was brandishing a large knife and endeavouring to commit suicide underneath a train carriage at Town Hall on 6 June 1993. Transit Officer Holt was hampered by the confined space in which to avoid the aggressive thrusts from the man but despite being the subject of these attacks, was able to take the weapon away and then commendably assist with life support procedures. In case of issue. Certificate framed and glazed. Uncirculated.
