GRATIAN, (A.D. 367-383), silver siliqua, Treveri mint, issued A.D. c.367-375 (2.094 grams), obv. pearl-diademed head of Gratian to right, around DN GRATIA NVS PF AVG, rev. VRBS ROMA, Roma seated to left on throne holding spear and Victory on globe, TRPS. in exergue, (S.4134A, RIC 27c, RSC.86an). Dark tone, nearly extremely fine and scarce.

Ex A.H. Baldwin & Sons, November 1952 and the Cornelius C. Vermeule III Collection, sold in Triton III (lot 1729 part) for the benefit of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts with his ticket.
