JULIUS CAESAR, (c.46-5 B.C.), silver denarius, Spanish mint, (3.944 grams), obv. Venus diademed head to right, small Cupid behind at shoulder, rev. Gaulish captive and Gallia captive seated beneath trophy, CAESAR in exergue, (S.1404 [£125 VF], Syd. 1014, Cr.468/1, C.Julius Caesar or RSC 13 [£130]). Good very fine and very scarce.
