EGYPT, Kingdom of, Ptolemy II, (285-246 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (14.15 grams), Tyre mint (Phoenicia), obv. diademed head of Ptolemy I to right, with aegis, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, standing on thunderbolt, in front club, and monogram TYP, around BASILEWS PTOLEMAIOU, (cf.S.7773, Sv. 644, SNG Cop. 482-3). Some discolouration on reverse, otherwise nearly very fine.
