SYRIA, Coele - Syria, Damascus Mint, Caracalla (A.D. 198-217), silver tetradrachm, (12.89 grams), issued 215-217, obv. laureate head of Caracalla to right, around AYT KAI ANTWNEINOC CE B, rev. eagle standing facing, head to left, wreath in beak, between legs head of a ram to left, around **DHMARC EX UPATOX TOD*, (S.2661, Bellinger 219 [ANS Mum. Studies No.3, p.68, Pl.XV, 17], Prieur 1204 [p.143]). With brilliant fields, as struck with high relief and an exceptionally fine portrait, with mint bloom extremely fine and very rare in this condition.
