MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.224 grams), Tarsos mint, issued c.323 B..C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, AIN monogram under throne, **S* in exergue, Nike flying to right with in wreath in left field, to right **ALEXANDROU, above **BASILEWS*, (cf.S.6713, Price 3042, BMC 3042a-c, M.-, Demanhur 2388-2397). Well centred nearly extremely fine and rare.
