ITALY, Calabria, Taras, (334-330 B.C.), silver nomos, stater or didrachm, (7.206 grams), obv. naked helmeted warrior holding short javelin and shield on horse galloping to right, below **DAI* in one line, rev. Taras astride a dolphin to left, holding a shield emblazoned with a hippocamp and trident, **FI* to left, **[TAPAS] on right, purple shell below, (cf.S.347, cf.Vl.594-6, SNG ANS 990/991 [same dies]). Heavy porosity on the reverse, otherwise good fine/very good.
