FAUSTINA SENIOR, wife of Antoninus Pius, (died A.D.141), AE sestertius, issued after 141, Rome mint, (24.76 grams), obv. draped bust to right of Faustina, around DIVA AVGVSTA FAVSTINA, rev. Pietas standing to left, holding box of perfumes, dropping incense on altar, around PIETAS AVG, S C across field, (S.1366, RIC 1146A, cf.C.240). Attractive brown patina, weak in places, nearly very fine and scarce.
