SOUTHERN BRITAIN, Atrebates uninscribed issue, British 'Remic' (c.55-45 B.C.), gold quarter stater, abstract style, (1.240 grams), obv. Abstracted head of Apollo to right, rev. Celticized disjointed horse to right, spoked wheel with axel below, (S.48, Van A. 222-3 notes as rare). Weak in places very fine and rare.

The Atrebates occupied the territory that is today Essex, and counties to the west.
