TIBERIUS, (A.D. 14-37), silver denarius, Lugdunum mint, issued A.D. 14-37, (3.596 grams), obv. laureate head of Tiberius to right, around [TI CAE]SAR DIVI AVG F AVGVST[VS], rev. [PONTIF] MAXIM, Livia seated to right, with vertical sceptre and branch, (S.1763 [£375 EF], RIC 30, BMC 48, H.916 [304]). Uneven tone, off centred reverse, otherwise good fine.
Of Biblical importance as the issue is often described as the Tribute Penny (Mark 12: 14-17).
