SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria, Antiochia ad Orontem (Antioch), Caracalla (A.D. 198-217), silver tetradrachm, (12.878 grams), issued 215-217, second issue, obv. laureate head of Caracalla to right, around most of legend AYT K M A ANTWNEINOC [CEB], rev. eagle standing facing, head to right, wreath in beak, above **D E* either side of head, around **DHMARX EX UPATOX TO D*, (cf.S.2649, Prieur 224, Bellinger 19 [ANS Mum. Studies No.3, p.25, Pl.II, 9]). Minor porosity on the obverse otherwise very fine or better, scarce.
