SICILY, Siculo-Punic, mint of the camp, (c.300-290 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.736 grams), obv. head of young Melqart or Heracles wearing lion skin to right, rev. horse's head to left, palm tree behind, traces of Punic legend below, border of dots, (S.6436, SNG Fitz. 1494, Jenkins SNR 57, [Series 5a] 300 [same dies, O96/R248). Worn on top of head, with old hoard patina, otherwise very fine and scarce.
