COMMODUS, (A.D. 180-192), AE medallion, (50.79 g), Rome Mint, issued A.D. 186-189, obv. laureate draped bust of Commodus to right, around M COMMODVS ANTONINVS PIVS FELIX AVG BRIT, rev. Commodus standing right sacrificing over tripod, Fortuna standing left holding rudder and cornucopia, around FORTVNAE DVCI, C V PP in exergue, (S.-, Cohen 354/164, Glasgow m40, Gnecchi pl 79, 2). Attractive patina, areas of surface roughness and smoothing, otherwise good very fine and extremely rare.
