TRENCH ART, ashtray made from the base of a Japanese artillery shell with Japanese text on base, with three cigarette holders fitted, in the centre is a bullet and cartridge case and at the end of the bullet head is a short rod onto which sits a miniature brass Spitfire made from bullets and a cartridge case; also another ashtray made from a very large shell casing, marked on the base, 'MF Lot 16/3 78/54 CAL/5 in MK7 MOD O' and other markings, fitted in the centre is a brass rod (this is broken and needs to be refitted) and attached to the rod is a cast metal model of a WWII B17 bomber. Apart from the non-fitting or damaged parts, fine - very fine. (2)
