A STERLING SILVER OPEN FACED POCKET WATCH. Herbert Blockley, London. White enamel dial, black roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial, subsidiary mainspring dial with blued steel hands. Water resistant case with screw on crown cover, bezel & case back with leather gaskets. Engraved on case back 'In memory of Artic Endeavors to R.G. Casey, H.R. Alaska - Spitsbergen no.2, S. Hawkins April 15-16 1928. Lever escapement with Breguet hairspring, diamond endstone. Engraved movement. Herbert Blockley successor to Lurd & Blockley 41 Duke Street, St. James S.W. Movement no.12446. Case no.2611. Circa 1903.

Casey was Governor General of Australia for the period 1965-69.
