Richard Ernest William Hewitt, letterpress machinist, age 25, born at Leichhardt, Sydney, NSW; Enl.17May1940, at Engineers' Drill Hall, Paddington, Sydney, NSW, with 18 months previous service in militia; served in Middle East 19Oct1940 to 25Mar1942 and Borneo 23May to 19Nov1945; Disch.08Dec1945 from AIF as Lieutenant ex 2/3 Aust C.C.S. and transferred to AAMC 09Dec1945; awarded Efficiency Medal 06Jul1950; Died 02Jan1991.
