Octavian head to right bearded, around [IMP CAESAR D]IVI F III VIR ITER R [P C], rev. tetrastyle temple of Divus Julius, statue within, inscribed DIVI IVL on architrave, altar to left, border of dots, around part of COS ITER ET TER DESIG, (S.1545, Cr.540/2, RSC 90, BMC Africa 33); Commodus, (A.D. 177-192), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 184, (2.20 g), obv. laureate head of Commodus to right, around M COMMODVS AN TON AVG PIVS, rev. naked Mars advancing right, with spear and trophy, around TR P VIII IMP VI COS IIII PIVS, (cf.S.5715, RIC 54, RSC 878); Septimius Severus, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 209, (3.06 g), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around SEVERVS PIVS AVG, rev. around P M TR P XVII COS III P P, Jupiter, naked but for cloak over shoulder, standing half left between two children, (Caracalla and Geta), Jupiter holds thunderbolt and sceptre, (S.6345, RIC 226, RSC 525). First coin, rough, slightly bent, about fine, others good very fine, last two illustrated. (3)
