IMPERATOR around cross, three pellets in corners 1 and 3, rev. bust of ruler left, IERL'SICIL REX around,(Spahr p.197, 113); together with another denarius, 16mm, (0.70 g), Messina or Brindisi mints, c.1246, obv. and rev. similar legends, obv.
