HENLEY ON BRISBANE (AQUATIC CARNIVAL), 1909, prize fob in voided handcrafted silver (24x31mm), hallmarked for Birmingham 1908 by maker R.A&Co (Rosenthal, Aronson & Co), obverse inscribed, 'Henley/on/Brisbane/20.3.09', reverse inscribed, 'Brisbane 4s/M.Donnollan/2'. Good very fine.

On Saturday 20 March 1909 the first Henley-on-Brisbane aquatic carnival was held at Hamilton Reach, Brisbane River and comprised rowing, sailing and novelty events. About 20,000 people saw the carnival with all proceeds donated to the Brisbane Hospital. The Brisbane Fours race was open to members of the Brisbane Rowing Club.
