COMMERCIAL BANKING COMPANY OF SYDNEY, uniface one pound, issued at Sydney, 1 Decr 1889, (18 printed), No.C92624, hand signed by Manager, G.L. Rutland (?) and entered by E. Platt, imprint on centre of bottom, 'Bradbury Wilkinson & Co, Engravers &c London' (Vort-Ronald p.142-152 on bank, similar note illustrated as Fig.154, p.147). Folds and holes on creases, with some aging edge tone, otherwise very good and very rare.

This issue of the Commercial Bank of Sydney (1834-1982, merging to form the NAB in 1982), is much rarer than the five pound note issue as they all come from the 1971 'New England Hoard'.

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
