JOVIAN, (A.D. 363-364), AE double maiorina, Thessalonica mint, issued 363-4, (8.30 g), obv. laureate draped and cuirassed bust to right, around D N IOVIANV S P F P P AVG, rev. VICTORIA ROMANORVM around, TES**G*. in exergue, emperor in military dress standing facing head right, holding standard with chi-rho on banner and Victory on globe, (S.19213, RIC VII 238, C.23). Dark brown glossy patina, good very fine and rare.
