EDDINGTON, J., Hobart Town, currency note, sixpence, May 1823 (year 1823 printed), No.64, hand signed by J. Eddington. Many folds, corners with gum adhesions on back, otherwise good fine, the note overall being in better than average condition for notes of this period, extremely rare and probably unique.

Eddington is not noted as an issuer by either McNeice (Tasmanian Promissory Notes) or Mira (Coinage and Currency in New South Wales 1788-1829).

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price.
