AURELIAN, (A.D. 270-275), billon antoniniani, Ticinum mint, 4th officina, 1st emission in 274, (4.19 g), obv. radiate cuirassed bust right, around IMP C AVRELIANVS AVG, rev. ORIENS AVG around, QXXI in exergue, Sol standing left, raising hand and holding globe; seated captives flanking below; QXXT, (S.-, RIC V -, cf.BN 579) (Illustrated); another Milan mint issued 273 (3.27 g), similar with T in exergue, (S.11564, RIC 135); others (4.14 g), Milan mint issued 272, with rev. CONCORDIA MILITVM, Aurelian clasping hands of Concordia, S in exergue (S.11522, RIC 120) double struck on obverse; another (3.75 g), Siscia mint, rev. IOVI CONSER, Aurelian and Jupiter, in exergue *S, (S.11542, RIC 223); another with (3.22 g), Siscia mint, rev. VIRTVS MILITVM, Aurelian with soldier receiving Victory, (cf.S.11636, cf.RIC 242). Fine - nearly extremely fine, two with some silvering, first rare. (5)
