MACRINUS, (A.D. 217-218), AE sestertius, Rome mint, (25.56 g), issued A.D. 217, obv. bearded Macrinus laureate cuirassed bust to right, around IMP CAES M OPEL SEV MACRINVS [AVG]. rev. Securitas standing to left resting on column, holding sceptre, around [SECVRIT]AS TEMPORVM, S C across, (S.7402, RIC 92, C.122). Weak in places on legend, nearly fine and rare.

Ex M.R. Roberts with their priced ticket, previously in Noble Numismatics Sale 76 (lot 3655).
