MARCUS AURELIUS, (A.D. 161-18), AE as, Rome, issued A.D. 175, (11.11 g), obv. M ANTONINVS AVG TR P XXIX, laureate bearded head to right, rev. IMP VII COS III, Tiber reclining to left, holding stern of boat and reeds, leaning on overturned urn from which water flows; SC across. (S.5065, RIC III 1142, C.348, BMC 1498). Toned, good very fine and very scarce.

Similar examples in recent months realised Davissons (8.12.21 [lot 53] $280US) and Roma (17.6.21 [lot 1904] £300).
