COL NEM on either side of palm-shoot, chained crocodile to right below, wreath above, (S.1729, RPC 523, RIC 155) (illustrated); Tiberius, (A.D. 14-37), AE dupondius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 16-22, (12.35 g), obv. laureate head of Tiberius to left, around traces of TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVST IMP VIII, with countermark NCAPR, rev. shield with floral decorations, facing bust of Tiberius at center in wreath, uncertain around, (cf.S.1767-8, RIC 38-9, C.4-5); another AE as, issued A.D. 35-36, (9.86 g), obv. laureate head of Tiberius to left, around TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVG[VST IMP VIII], rev. winged caduceus S C across, around PONTIF MAXIM T[RIBVN POTEST] XXXVII, (S.1771, RIC 59, BMC 120).
