LOLLIUS PALICANUS, silver denarius, issued 45 B.C., (3.76 g). Rome mint, obv. laureate head of Honos to right, LIBERTATAS behind, rev. view of the Rostra in the Roman Forum, ornamented with ship's beaks and surmounted by tribune's bench, PALIKANVS above, (S.465, Craw.473/1; Syd.960; Lollia 2). BW 1653. Attractive cabinet toning, very fine and rare.
