BOEOTIA, Thebes, (390-382 B.C. BCD dates), silver stater, Damo.. magistrate, (11.54 g), obv. Boeotian shield, rev. amphora with letters **D*A MO either side, club left in field above, vine branch with three ivy leaves and berry from amphora, (cf.S.2398, Hepworth "The 4th Century BC Magistrate Coinage of the Boiotian Confederacy," in Nomismatika Kronika (1998), No.22, group A2-3, cf.BCD 490-491 [Triton IX], cf.BMC 127 [p.81, Pl.XV, 3], cf.Pozzi 3284, SNG Cop. 324 var.). Toned, struck off centre on obverse, otherwise very fine, a rare Magistrate and very rare variety.
