MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.25 g), Sardes mint, Antigonos I Monophthalmos, struck as Strategos of Asia, issued c.319-315 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, mongram in circle to left, monogram below throne, to right **ALEXANDROU*, (cf.S.6730, Price 2684, Muller -). Attractively toned, good very fine and rare.
