SINGLES TO BROTHERS BOTH KIA: 1914-15 Star. 3246 Pte E.C.Nation. 10/Bn. A.I.F.; British War Medal 1914-18. 4541 Pte C.S.Nation. 10 Bn. A.I.F.; also an unrelated issue, French Medaille Militaire, in a box. Unnamed as issued. The named medals impressed. Three single medals, the ribbons on first and last medal damaged or dirty, otherwise very fine.

Eric Cyril Nation, labourer, age 18, born at Magill, Sth Aust; Enl.26Jul1915 at Keswick, Sth Aust, with previous service in School Cadets and currently serving in 79th Infy Bn; Emb.27Oct1915 with 10Bn Rfts; TOS 50Bn 29Feb1916; KIA 10Jun1917 at Belgium; Buried near Messines, Belgium. (Also entitled to British War Medal 1914-18 and Victory Medal 1914-19)

Clifford Story Nation, baker, age 26, born at Magill, Sth Aust; Enl.06Sep1915 at Adelaide, Sth Aust in 10Bn Rfts, with 2 years service in Kadina Vol Force; Emb.07Feb1916; TOS 10Bn in France 30Jul1916; WIA & Missing and after Court of Inquiry amended to KIA 06May1917 France; Buried at Queant Road British Cemetery, France. (Also entitled to Victory Medal 1914-19)

Another brother, 149 Pte Ralph Nation, age 21, died 06Mar1917 as the result of wounds received in action on 28Feb1917 in France. He was buried at Etaples Military Cemetery, France.
