WWI: George Longworth Jones, electrician lineman, age 38, born at Coventry, Warwickshire, England; Enl. 04Sep1914 at Melbourne, Vic in 2 Field Coy, Aust Engineers, with previous service of 10 years in Royal Navy and 9 months 15 days in N.S.W. Naval Brigade in China Expedition; to Gallipoli 31May1915; to hospital sick 23Aug1915; Died 27Sep1915 at Royal Victoria Hospital, Netley, England of enteric fever.

Entitled to 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19 all issued to widow, later remarried.
