JUSTIN II, (565-578), AE follis or 40 Nummi, Nicomedia mint, issued year 9, 573-574, Officinae B, (14.84 g), obv. frontal enthroned figures of Justin and Sophia he holds globe cruciger and she holds cross sceptre, cross between around legend DN IVSTI NVS PP AVI, rev. Large M, cross above, A/N/N/O to left, GI/II to right, B below, NIKO in exergue, (S.369, DOC (99c), W.(147), H.46b.4b, T.(125), BNP (25-26), R.-, example Athens and Metlich Collections). Extremely fine, with dark green patination, rare in this condition.
